Despite a 25 mph wind and gust up to 50 mph the Pirates overcame Mother Nature once again to extend their winning streaks to 4 games. The Lady Pirates did it in Fashion. Sporting the new all-black uniforms the Lady Pirates dominated the Del City Eagles with a 4-0 shut-out victory on Tuesday Night.
The Pirate Boys were a little less impressive on Tuesday night after giving Del City's home croud a hope that the Eagles might soar. Trailing 1-0 at half and looking very lifeless the boys went into the locker room with their heads down a bit. However, in the second half the Boys responded like true champions. Just minutes into the second half Senior Jaime Garcia scored a very impressive volley to even the game up and then the ball began rolling. Cody Deckard came to life for the Pirats and added two goals of his own. Michael Hechtner got himself a goal from his defensive back position off of a long throw-in into the box. And Freshman Jaccob Rangel, the Pirates leading goal scorer, would not be denied getting a goal himself.
Both the Pirates and Lady Pirates look to extend their winning streaks tomorrow against the Midwest City Bombers.
